Online Giving FAQs

Q: Why online giving?
People are growing accustomed to handling finances online. It can be increasingly difficult to remember to mail a check or bring your gift to church.

Q: What are the benefits of giving online?
You benefit from the ability to create a giving schedule that fits your lifestyle. You’re always in control of your giving through your SecureGive account. Online giving is fast, convenient, and consistent. When you’re out of town or unable to attend a service, you won’t have to worry about the commitments you’ve made.

Q: What security is in place?
With our tool’s secure servers, your information is encrypted prior to transfer. This eliminates the possibility that someone might “tap” the line and extract your personal data from it.

Q: Are electronic contributions risky?
No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check, and it can’t be lost, stolen, or destroyed in the mail.

Q: How does online giving work?
You decide how much to give and when it’s withdrawn from your account.

Q: Can I give to multiple purposes?
Yes. You’ll be able to give to the Budget, Missions, or to an Other specific designated fund.

Q: How can funds be withdrawn directly from my account?
Only with your authorization. No one can deduct money from your account automatically unless you specifically authorize it. You’re always in control of your giving through your SecureGive account.

Q: When would this automatic contribution be taken from my account?
You can specify when and how often you want your contribution made.

Q: If I don’t write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?
Your contribution is made on a pre-established day, so you can deduct it from your check record then.

Q: Can I give by credit card?
Yes. However, the church incurs lower processing fees for debit card or ACH (like an “electronic check”) transactions. If giving by credit card, please consider adding 3% to your gift to cover the processing fee.

Q: How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
Your bank statement will include an itemized list of automatic gifts given from your account. Additionally, your SecureGive account will allow you to view your contributions history online.

Q: What if I change banks or accounts or want to change the amount of my contribution?
You can change your giving choices at anytime online.

Q: Is there any charge to me from my bank to give online?
No. You should incur no banking fees associated with your online gifts.

Q: Who do I talk to if I have more questions?
If you have questions about giving online, contact Sondra Arnold by email or call the church office at 817.282.3628.
