Your generosity fuels our mission as we seek to make disciples of all generations, meet people where they are (both physically and spiritually) and take the gospel to the nations.
We’re grateful for the faithfulness of God’s people, as the impact of your gifts live daily for God’s glory. Thank you for your continued and generous support towards the ministry of First Baptist Hurst.
The typical ways to give include:
- Give online. In just a few steps, you can make a secure one-time contribution or set up recurring giving. You will be able to give without an account, or log in with your personalized account, which will give you the ability to manage your scheduled contributions.
- Give on Sundays by placing your gift in an offering box at your campus.
- Give through the mail by check or Bank Bill Pay, making checks payable to First Baptist Hurst. Our mailing address is PO Box 54866, Hurst, TX 76054.
- Give by dropping off your gift at either of our campus offices.
Other ways to give include:
- Stock Donations — Capital gains taxes can be avoided when you donate appreciated stock, and you may receive a full tax deduction for the full value of the stock on the date of transfer.
You must have owned the stock for at least one year to qualify for these tax advantages. - IRA — If you are over 70.5 years old, you can give to the church directly from your traditional IRA. These donations count toward your required minimum distribution but are not taxed, potentially lowering your adjusted gross income for tax purposes. Talk about this with your tax advisor and work with your IRA custodian to donate from your IRA.
- Legacy Giving — You can leave a lasting legacy by planning an estate gift to First Hurst.
As followers of Christ, it is important we understand what the Bible says about generous giving. The Bible’s pattern of giving is the tithe or 10% of our income.
The purpose of tithing is to teach us to put God first in our lives. God doesn’t need our money. Instead, He wants what our money represents...our priorities, passions, and purposes. We want to encourage you to make a commitment to tithe and dedicate yourself to it. And more importantly...trust God and let Him prove His promises.
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” — Malachi 3:1
