What We Believe

God: There is one God, eternally existent and triune in nature, who has revealed Himself to the world in the Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit. God is sovereign, unchanging, and holy in all He does. Though unique in persons, the three members of the Trinity are completely unified in purpose. (Genesis 1:1)

Jesus: Jesus Christ is the virgin-born Son of God, fully God and fully man, absolutely perfect. He came to redeem all who will place faith in Him. He was crucified as a substitution for the wrong we’ve done, buried and was raised from the dead on the third day. He now sits enthroned at the right hand of the Father, ruling over all things. Jesus Christ will some day return to rescue and restore those who’ve placed faith in Him. (Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is personally and intimately involved in convicting of sin, leading to salvation, sealing at conversion, as well as gifting, guiding, and empowering the believer for works of ministry, as we seek to live under His direction. In addition the Holy Spirit illumines God’s Word and empowers the church. (John 16:5-15; Ephesians 1:13; Acts 1:8)

The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant word of God which conveys His love, plan, and expectations for each person. God has chosen to reveal His nature, His will, and His purposes through it. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Man:  Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image to glorify God in all things. (Genesis 1:26-31)

Sin: We are all sinners and have fallen short of what God expects of us. Due to our sin, we will be forever separated from God without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible. Salvation is by God’s graciousness, through faith in Christ, and is initiated by the Holy Spirit’s leading. (Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23)

Salvation:  Salvation is a free gift of God made available to all who place faith in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 2:8-9) All people who place faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity with God in His Kingdom, and all people who do not place faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in hell. (Matthew 25:1-46, John 5:24, Revelation 20:11-15)

The Church: The Church is the bride of Christ, made up of baptized believers who’ve trusted Jesus for salvation, whose function is to glorify God by gathering together to build up one another and by going to make disciples of all nations. (Acts 2:42, Matthew 28:19-20)

Baptism: Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water and is an act of obedience following Jesus’ example, a symbolic picture of Jesus’ death, burial & resurrection; and a testimony of faith that joins the one to the many, who’ve done the same. (Acts 2:36-41, Romans 6:4)

Lord’s Supper/Communion: The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. (1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

Jesus’ Second Coming:  Christ is returning soon; each person will be held accountable and therefore should be ready for His arrival.  (Matthew 24:1-51, 25:1-46)
