Rock the Block Party at The Trails, Thursday, June 10, 6-8pm

Join us for our Rock the Block party at The Trails campus on Thursday, June 10, 6-8pm. We'll have games, bounce houses, food, & Sweet Frog frozen yogurt. All are welcome, so invite your friends!

Blood Drive, Sunday, June 13, 9am-1pm, Norwood Campus

Carter BloodCare provides 96% of all blood transfusion needs for the Metroplex and surrounding 56 counties, requiring around 1,100 donors per day. It’s only possible through generosity of donors. Sign up today on Main Street at Norwood, or check the flyers at The Trails to sign up by email, text, or phone. We need at least 50 donors. Sign up early!  

All Church Swim/Baptism, Saturday, June 12, 7-9pm

Our All-Church Pool Party is Saturday, June 12, from 7-9pm. Join us at the Chisholm pool for a free night of fun as we begin by celebrating in the act of worship through baptism, then swimming and fellowship with our church body. If you have never participated in the ordinance of baptism and would like to be part of this opportunity, please contact a pastor today!

Connection Class Training Camp, August 8

Connection Class leaders will have a special time of training and preparing for the upcoming semester.

Worship & Creative Arts

Worship Choir

This summer, the Worship Choir will rehearse on the following Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Norwood campus Worship Center. For more details about singing with the worship choir, email sarah@firsthurst.com

  • June: Rehearsal 6/16, singing on Sunday, 6/20
  • July: Rehearsal 7/21, singing on Sunday, 7/25
  • August: Rehearsal 8/11, singing on Sunday, 8/15

Communion

Both campuses will observe communion (the Lord's Supper) during the morning worship services on July 11.

Missions

Tarrant Area Food Bank Mobile Sites

We host two Tarrant Area Food Bank mobile sites each month. The first Tuesday of each month, we are at Vivagene Copeland Park-Bellaire (weather permitting). The third Thursday of each month, we are at The Trails campus. We’ll unload the truck at 4pm and begin distributing the food at 5pm. Fold-up garden wagons are needed for our food distribution at Vivagene Copeland Park. If you have one to donate, please let Kimberly know at kimberly@firsthurst.com.

Bellaire Kids Missions, June 21-23

We're hosting VBS in the park, 7-8:30pm. Contact Kimberly for more info.

North Dakota Mission Trip, July 10-17

Our ongoing ministry among the Sioux tribe of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation continues this summer. For more info, contact Kimberly.

Bellaire Missions (City of Hurst Basketball), July 20

We're working with the City of Hurst to host fun basketball games and contests. Check back for more details!

Mexico Mission Trip, July 21-25

If you're interested in going to Piedras Negras, Mexico to help with VBS and teen events, contact Kimberly Wirt or Chuy Segura.

Operation Back 2 School, July 29-31

Did you know over half of HEB ISD students come from homes that are economically disadvantaged? The goal of Operation Back 2 School is to supply these students with a new backpack, school supplies, and provide their parents with resources to help all year long.

Mission Meal, August 29, 5pm

We're hosting an "unusual" mission meal experience this year! Watch for details!

Mexico Mission Trip, September 3-5

Picnic in the Park, June 13

You’re invited to a picnic! Immediately following Norwood’s 11am service, grab some fast food or bring a sack lunch from home, and join us for a fellowship at Mayfair Park by the Norwood campus on June 13. They have a playscape for the little ones, picnic tables, and a huge field for frisbee, football, or kickball. Bring a lawn chair or a hammock, and enjoy a great time hanging out!

Praxis Bible Study (ages 19-35)

Join us for Bible study each Thursday at 6:30pm in the Norwood campus foyer. We’ll have a time of worship and study the book of 1 Peter. For more info, follow us on Instagram at 1HPraxis. Mark your calendars for these special summer events:

Women's Bible Study [hosted by The Well], June 7- August 2, 6:30-8:30

The Well is a place for moms of all ages and stages to come together and find encouragement with each other through God’s Word. This summer, join us as we study The Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin,  Mondays, June 7-August 2, 6:30-8:30pm. For more info email moms@firsthust.com.

Mix Tape Sessions, August 26-28

Break out sessions for men, women, young adults, couples, parents, etc, hosted by Barnabas Piper, Ronnie & Melissa Martin, and Ted Kluck.

Senior Trip, June 2-5

Seniors from the class of 2021 are going on a special trip to New Orleans, LA.

Student Camp Meeting, Sunday, June 6

There will be a meeting for all parents of students going to summer camp this Sunday after the 11:00 service in the student area at the Norwood campus. We’ll cover packing, transportation, and other essential details for our trip to Bear Trap Ranch in Colorado, June 27-July 2. Student Camp, June 27-July 2

This summer, students grades 7-12 are going to Bear Trap Ranch in Colorado, June 27-July 2. The cost is $350, but there is a discount for families with more than one student. Camp packets are available here. If you're interested in being a small group leader or if you’d like to contribute financially to help send a student to camp, please email kyle@firsthurst.com.

Summer XP Weekend Camp, June 11-13

Summer XP is back in 2021! Join us for our Summer XP Weekend Edition on June 11-12. This FREE sports and activities camp is open to all kids entering Kindergarten through those who’ve completed 6th grade. CentriKid Camp, July 26-30
