First Hurst Student Ministry

Connection Groups

On Sunday mornings our desire is to plant students firmly in the Bible by giving them the opportunity to study and grow, being led by gifted and called leaders who love Jesus and believe every scripture is God-breathed and beneficial.

Crossroads Student Choir

The student music ministry of First Hurst serves this purpose:  to use music to not only worship God, but to represent who He is to those around us. Crossroads is made up of 7th-12th grade students and is open to anyone who is called to serve our Lord through music. The choir meets most Sunday evenings at 5pm and participates in our Norwood Campus worship services on various Sundays throughout the year. Additionally, the Crossroads Student Choir performs an annual True Love Concert each February and serves on a mission trip each summer.

Special Events

Disciple Now

This in-town weekend retreat is designed to take students to a deeper level in their relationship with Christ through powerful worship experiences and the opportunity to focus on spiritual disciplines (hence discipleship) such as fellowship, evangelism, missions, and prayer. Disciple Now in January on the weekend of MLK Day. Find out more.

Student Summer Camp

First Hurst believes teenagers are important! This summer we are providing an opportunity to travel and delight in God. A pilgrimage is a journey with the expressed destination is to encounter God. That’s exactly what student camp is – a modern day pilgrimage. We care about our students enough to provide this kind of opportunity for them. There are a lot of fun things to do at camp: horse riding, rock climbing, ropes course, gaga ball, and more. But what excites us the most is to spend a week with our students, sharing a common experience. Together, we can spend several days free of distractions, seeking God and discovering His plan and purpose for our lives. Click here to view the Student Summer Camp 2021 info packet.

As a Student Ministry, we recognize that our ministry is not only to students. It's also our desire to partner with parents in discipling their students, while at the same time, ministering to them, the parents, throughout the journey. We strive to do this through various opportunities throughout the year.
