First Hurst Student Ministry
On Sunday mornings our desire is to plant students firmly in the Bible by giving them the opportunity to study and grow, being led by gifted and called leaders who love Jesus and believe every scripture is God-breathed and beneficial.

Junior High & High School (grades 7-12) -- 9:00am
Each Wednesday join us for a small group discipleship experience. This will be the most integral place for connection and spiritual growth. Discover more about who you are, Nurture your relationship with God and others, and be challenged to Act on God’s word. Student Center doors open at 6:30pm. Come at 5:30pm for food and fellowship.
Crossroads Student Choir
The student music ministry of First Hurst serves this purpose: to use music to not only worship God, but to represent who He is to those around us. Crossroads is made up of 7th-12th grade students and is open to anyone who is called to serve our Lord through music. The choir meets most Sunday evenings at 5pm and participates in our Norwood Campus worship services on various Sundays throughout the year. Additionally, the Crossroads Student Choir performs an annual True Love Concert each February and serves on a mission trip each summer.
This in-town weekend retreat is designed to take students to a deeper level in their relationship with Christ through powerful worship experiences and the opportunity to focus on spiritual disciplines (hence discipleship) such as fellowship, evangelism, missions, and prayer. Disciple Now begins on a Friday evening and ends after Sunday morning worship services. Find out more.
Crossroads True Love Concert
The Crossroads Student Choir hosts this special evening each year near Valentine’s Day in preparation for their summer choir tour and mission trip. Music for the tour is presented, and the evening also serves as a fundraising event toward the cost of the summer trip.
Senior Banquet & Robing Ceremony
Each year we celebrate the important milestone of high school graduation with graduates and their families by hosting a banquet in honor of those who have helped the graduate along the path of life. Dinner is only a small piece of this wonderful evening of blessing and praying over each graduating senior.
Each summer, the Crossroads Student Choir along with others who have gone through special task training embark on an adventure that is part mission trip, part concert tour, and part summer camp. Contact Mark Garner for more details.
Lunch for a Buck
During the school year, we host a lunch for the senior class on the third Thursday of the month. Students with off-campus lunch privileges can come by the church to enjoy a burger, chips, cookies, and a drink--all for just $1! It's just one more opportunity to gather for a good time of fellowship over a good meal.
As a Student Ministry, we recognize that our ministry is not only to students. It's also our desire to partner with parents in discipling their students, while at the same time, ministering to them, the parents, throughout the journey. We strive to do this through various opportunities throughout the year.
