Mothers of Preschoolers

What is MOPS?

Mothers of Preschoolers

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an international nonprofit organization designed to support and meet the unique needs of mothers and preschoolers (expectant mothers through kindergarten). Our MOPS group is a smart, relevant, and caring network helping moms to be better moms. Mothers and children meet separately, allowing a morning out for moms, who can relax, enjoy a guest speaker, create crafts, and enjoy adult conversation. We have an inviting environment where women can come to build friendships, be encouraged, and gain practical parenting strategies. While the moms are meeting together, our children are lovingly cared for in the MOPPETS program. We all share the desire to be the best moms we can be and we strive to provide a place of support and love. It is our desire that every mom will know that she is a part of God’s bigger purpose, picture, and plan.

MOMSnext is a group for moms of elementary-aged children. First Hurst MOPS ministry is introducing this new group for what’s next after MOPS, because your job as a mom doesn’t end after your children enter school. New challenges and issues arise, but the need for community and hope remains. Whether your kids are in school or homeschooled, MOMSnext group will be an open, accepting place for all mothers of elementary-age kids to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope, just as our MOPS group does. MOMSnext will meet alongside our current MOPS group on the same day, and you will get to have the same experience as our MOPS group does, just with a little more personalized approach relative to your elementary-aged children.

Why Do I Need MOPS?

"There is no more significant group of cultural changers in the world than mothers."
- Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life

MOPS is the place for YOU!

MOPS is dedicated to the message that "mothering matters," and that moms of young children need encouragement during these critical early years. Our MOPS program helps mothers find friendship and acceptance, provides places for real and open connection, and helps each mom experience God's love through relationships and resources.

"Mothers all over the world get tired every day; what matters is that we encourage and help each other in our roles as women and moms."
- Emily, a mother

"I have been granted the greatest gift of all. I am the audience and conductor of our children's life-long concert. While their fingers are merely touching keys and strings, MOPS has taught me the importance of my hands' work. As a mother, my hands are entrusted with God's greatest composition, the formation of a child. Every caress, each wipe, and any touch can create repercussions that will resonate throughout a lifetime."
- Donna, a mother
