From young adults just out of college up through those in their golden years, our Adult Ministry provides meaningful relationships and a variety of Bible study opportunities in different settings and teaching/learning styles. We also have additional ministry events that focus specifically on men, women, parenting, finances, recreation, etc.
We truly believe that our life in Christ is a group project, so it’s vitally important for us to be connected with others in our church family. Belonging to a group of believers who are mutually committed to caring for one another, growing in their faith, and impacting others for Jesus Christ is what biblical community and GroupLife is all about. The Women's Ministry serves to encourage and inspire all the women of First Hurst. It is our desire that you feel deeply connected to the Lord and to other women. We want you to live in community with us as we do life together! (Hebrews 10:24-25) All year long, we have opportunities for you to get plugged in so please join us. We can't wait to meet you!
First Hurst is launching a new ministry called Embrace Grace in September 2018. This group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and non-judging place for the girls to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. It is a 12-week program that teaches them about God's love and grace. We need your help! Do you know a young mom to be who would be encouraged by being a part of this program? Would you prayerfully consider coming along side us as we launch this ministry and consider serving at the events that are a part of this program? If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved directly with us at First Hurst, please contact Stephanie via email - EmbraceGrace@FirstHurst.comor call 682.292.8152. For more information on Embrace Grace ministries, please visit www.embracegrace.com.
MOPS & MomsNext
Overseen by the Preschool Ministry, MOPS is dedicated to the message that "mothering matters," and that moms of young children need encouragement during these critical early years. Our MOPS program helps you find friendship and acceptance, provides places for real and open connection, and helps each mom experience God's love through relationships and resources. At our monthly meetings, Moms of all ages are welcome and childcare is available. For more information, email Mops@FirstHurst.com.

Jingle & Mingle
How about turning the hustle and bustle of Christmas into an opportunity for worship? This is why Jingle and Mingle was designed! In the fall of each year, we host a beautiful and fun-filled night for ladies! The sanctuary is decorated, candles are lit and tables are designed to creative perfection. We invite you to come sit with your friends, have a lovely dinner, and a delicious dessert. You will love our singers/worship leaders and you’ll hear an inspiring message from our speaker. Many women have deemed this night an indisputable holiday tradition!
To find out about these and other Women's Ministry events, please contact on of our Women's Ministry Directors, Karissa Tolson (The Trails Campus) or Charla West (Norwood Campus). We would be happy to add you to the Women's Ministry email list, so you won't miss an event! Other questions, email email@example.com!
The Pointmen Men's Ministry is guided by Paul's challenge to men in I Corinthians16:13-14, "Be on guard, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Do everything in love.” Through a variety of events ranging from ManChurch to enjoying the great outdoors, this community of men is committed to:
- becoming servant leaders in our homes, churches, and communities
- growing in Christ and the principles of our faith
- celebrating our uniqueness as men
- being courageous in the face of life's opportunities and challenges
- doing everything out of love for our God and for others
- sharing our life in Christ with one another
- enouraging the next generation
A few times each year the men of First Hurst and scores of guests gather for a unique time of worship specifically for men. We eat manly food, raffle manly prizes, and enjoy a message just for men. We often have a well-known speaker from the world of professional sports or outdoors.
These groups meet weekly throughout the year for Bible study, encouragement, prayer and accountability. If you are interested in being a part of a small group of men who are doing life together, growing in their walk with the Lord, and encouraging each other throughout the week, contact Todd Campbell.
Men of Prayer (MOP)
We know that God answers prayer, and we like to flank our prayer with good food, fun, and fellowship. Come join us each Thursday morning (Fridays during the summer) at 5:45am in the Fellowship Hall for prayer and breakfast. If you have any questions, please contact Lee Ferguson.
