First Hurst Student Ministry

Weekly

LIFE Connection

Life Connection is centered around equipping students with a desire and the practical skills to study God's word on their own. Through large group teaching, small group discussions, and many facets of media our gifted leaders walk with students through scripture helping them to interpret and apply it appropriately.

PINS

Home Groups, called PINS, meet weekly around the community and exist to connect students with each other and with spiritually alive adults from our fellowship. These are casual, relational groups designed primarily for establishing new friendships and leading toward deeper fellowship. For information on the PIN nearest you contact Ronda Allison.

One Worship

On the first Wednesday of each month, all ages come together as one body to worship one God in unity. Through vibrant, creative music and gospel-centered teaching, we seek to elevate the name of Jesus above all else.

123 Groups

Intense and relational discipleship groups meet at times and places chosen by the attendees. Big next steps toward Jesus is the goal, and deep mentoring relationships are the means by which we facilitate this. New groups form in September and January. For more information about how to join a 123 Group contact Ronda Allison.

Crossroads Student Choir

The student music ministry of First Hurst serves this purpose:  to use music to not only worship God, but to represent who He is to those around us. Crossroads is made up of 7th-12th grade students and is open to anyone who is called to serve our Lord through music. The choir meets most Sunday evenings at 5pm and participates in our Norwood Campus worship services on various Sundays throughout the year. Additionally, the Crossroads Student Choir performs an annual True Love Concert each February and serves on a mission trip each summer.

Special Events

Disciple Now

This in-town weekend retreat is designed to take students to a deeper level in their relationship with Christ through powerful worship experiences and the opportunity to focus on spiritual disciplines (hence discipleship) such as fellowship, evangelism, missions, and prayer. Disciple Now begins on a Friday evening and ends after Sunday morning worship services. Find out more.

Crossroads True Love Concert

The Crossroads Student Choir hosts this special evening each year near Valentine’s Day in preparation for their summer choir tour and mission trip. Music for the tour is presented, and the evening also serves as a fundraising event toward the cost of the summer trip.

Senior Banquet & Robing Ceremony

Each year we celebrate the important milestone of high school graduation with graduates and their families by hosting a banquet in honor of those who have helped the graduate along the path of life. Dinner is only a small piece of this wonderful evening of blessing and praying over each graduating senior.

C2

Each summer, the Crossroads Student Choir along with others who have gone through special task training embark on an adventure that is part mission trip, part concert tour, and part summer camp. Contact Mark Garner for more details.

Lunch for a Buck

During the school year, we host a lunch for the senior class on the third Thursday of the month. Students with off-campus lunch privileges can come by the church to enjoy a burger, chips, cookies, and a drink--all for just $1! It's just one more opportunity to gather for a good time of fellowship over a good meal.

Parents

As a Student Ministry, we recognize that our ministry is not only to students. It's also our desire to partner with parents in discipling their students, while at the same time, ministering to them, the parents, throughout the journey. We strive to do this through various opportunities throughout the year.
